Today after 5 long years (I took a year off when I got married), several late night last minute papers and countless homework assignments, I graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in Special Education.
I owe many thanks to my wonderful parents who after I graduated from high school that they would pay for college as long as maintained good grades and graduated. Sadly they funded more semesters then planned and most of my education. Also for their example, both of them graduating from college, my mom the first in her family. I love them so much and know that without their support it would not have been possible to make it all 5 years. My mom for her constant support and guidance and listening to me cry when I was overly stressed. For watching Daniel every morning this summer. My dad so willing to forward the hard earned money each school year. Wow I really have the best parents ever!
I also have to thank my wonderful husband David. I love him so much. We actually were able to walk together today. He didn't walk at his graduation so I got special permission for him to walk with me today. I am so proud of him for finishing school. He is my best friend and I couldn't ask for a better one. He lets me cry to him when I feel overwhelmed helping with hard math problems and most of all loving me through all of it. He is the best just in case you didn't already know that.
Daniel for letting me finish a life long goal. For allowing his mommy to be away from him so she could finish up her education. For being such a good boy at graduation. Yes he walked with us. We walked as a family. For his amazing sweet spirit and for bringing so much joy and happiness into my life and many others.
My in-laws for their support. Without them the second half of my internship would have been horrible. Leslie took the time out of her busy life to watch Daniel all but one day a week from 8 am to 4 at night for 3 whole months. Mike always willing to help and babysit at the last minute. THANK YOU!
Lindsie, Tyler, Jacob, Leigh, Reagan and Bryan for also watching Daniel this summer. I know he can be hard but they have done such a great job. I don't have to worry about him when he is with them. Thanks for always willing to help even at the last minute. I am so blessed.
I also want to thank my Father in Heaven. I know for a fact without him I never would have graduated. There were countless nights when I prayed for help and I know he answered my prayers. I know he knows who I am and knows my strengths and weaknesses. He loves me and I know it.
Thank You to everyone who has helped me. I really do appreciate it. I am so glad that I was able to graduate and receive such a wonderful education.
I AM DONE!!!!! YIPPEE!!

Emily,
You are sweet, kind, gracious, patient, compassionate, and one of the most amazing people I know in your very quiet, very humble way; all things I hope to be even a fraction of what you are one day. You deserve every ounce of pride you have in that College Degree and in that beautiful, adorable little boy.
Dave is one lucky guy to have found a true diamond in the rough. And I consider myself lucky enough to call you family too.
Congrats. Congrats!
Love,
Jourdan
Did I not forget a very important adjective?
You are also quite, quite beautiful!
Sweet Emily, your comments give such a clear view of your beautiful soul. I am so grateful that you have joined our family.
Congratulations Emily! You have worked so hard these past 5 years. I don't know how you've done it all, it's hard enough to just go to school, without all the other demands you have in your life. I am so proud of you for finishing, it really shows how determined and focused you are. You definitely have the best things that life has to offer, and I am so happy for you. Love you lots, Val.
